The following are the core beliefs of New and Lively Hope Family based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We believe the Bible is the unfailing Word of God, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and completely free from error. It is the final and complete authority for Christian faith and doctrine. The Church does not have the authority to establish beliefs or practices that contradict these Scriptures, which were affirmed as canon by the early Church.

We believe humanity was created in the image and likeness of God, but through disobedience became separated from Him, resulting in both spiritual and physical death. The only way to be restored to right relationship with God is through Jesus Christ.

We believe there is only one eternal God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
 (Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 1:16; John 17:5, 19:30; Ephesians 3; 1 John 5:7)

We believe Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man—begotten, not created, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin. He is the visible image of the invisible God. He lived a sinless life, gave His life in our place through His death, shed His blood for redemption, rose bodily from the grave, and now sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest.

We believe mankind can only be justified by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.
 (Romans 3:21-25; Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 3:22-26)

We believe the Holy Spirit is actively at work, convicting people of sin and drawing them to repentance. Those who truly repent are forgiven and, having died to the sinful nature, are called to be buried with Christ in water baptism.

 We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the empowerment promised by Jesus Christ to every believer. In the book of Acts, this baptism was accompanied by speaking in tongues as evidence. We also believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit remain active in the life of the believer and within the local church.

We affirm that the callings of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher are ordained by God to function within the body of Christ for the equipping and perfecting of believers until the Lord’s return. These ministries are given as gifts to the Church for the training of the saints, the advancement of unity and faith, and the edification of the Kingdom of God. We further affirm that these callings are not limited by gender, and that women and men alike are equally eligible to serve in all capacities of leadership and ministry as the Spirit calls and equips.

We believe the identity of the body of Christ is most clearly expressed through local congregations. Each local body has the right to govern itself under Christ, while remaining accountable to the larger body of believers in maintaining the core truths of the Christian faith.

We believe in the priesthood of all believers—that every person born of God has equal standing before Him and direct access to His presence.
 (1 Peter 2:5, 2:9; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 2:12, 2:18)

We believe the sacrifice of Christ on the cross brings healing not only to the spirit but also to the soul and body. Believers are called to put this into practice through the prayer of faith, the laying on of hands, and anointing with oil. Through His provision, God has supplied the answer to every need of humanity.

We believe every believer is called to depart from sin, understanding that salvation from the penalty of sin marks only the beginning of redemption. The Holy Spirit continues the work of transformation, conforming believers into the image of Christ.

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ, His literal reign upon the earth, the resurrection of the righteous to eternal life, the resurrection of the unrighteous to eternal separation, and the ultimate victory of God’s eternal Kingdom.
